The Youth Leader Fund (YLF) is organized with the support of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) and the Government of Japan. Programme Overview
The YLF programme unfolds in two major phases:
Phase 1: Four-Month Online Course
Participants will begin with an engaging four-month online learning component. This phase includes:
- Self-paced eLearning modules
- Interactive skill-building workshops
- Live webinars with disarmament experts
- Weekly commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours
No previous knowledge of disarmament or non-proliferation is required. If you are passionate about creating positive change, this course will equip you with all the necessary foundational knowledge.
Phase 2: Six-Day Study Tour to Japan
After successfully completing the online phase, 50 outstanding participants will be selected for an in-person, fully-funded study tour to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the second quarter of 2026.
During this tour, participants will:
- Engage directly with Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors)
- Collaborate with local youth in peace-building activities
- Visit historical sites, including Peace Parks and Museums
- Organize a youth-led event to promote disarmament and peace
